(free) (Updated: 12/16/12) WARNING FOUL LANGUAGE/GORE/BLOOD is used.... (Started: 4/11) The day dragged on, the sun was setting and Mizo was standing on a tall tree overlooking the valley. His green medium cut hair reflecting the last rays of sunlight. His eyes were a amber color, he was average height and slightly muscular. On his back he had a sheath and katana, a form of Japanese sword. His face had a cut from a blade skimming his cheek, cuts and blood smeared on his arms. His white shirt stained with blood and cut in several places. The war was not over between him and Zero...It had just begun! The night soon fell upon the valley and Mizo managed to laugh, tomorrow would be here soon, and he could finally Seek revenge on Zero. They had always been friends as kids, but over the years they grew apart and soon began a rivalry between each other. Zero’s father had killed Mizo’s family just to prove who was better suited to take over the city of Zanzer a well fortified and gated city. The city had been there for several generations before they were born. But Oresama was not such a merciful ruler, he would often kill people for fun by having them executed or to fight till death with well armed men he had under his command. The whole city would come and gather around the fights and act like it were a fair fight, of coarse cheering on Oresama’s man, as if they knew better than to defy his sense of judgment. They feared him more than death itself, as his form of punishment was most always cruel and slow. Mizo had to get stronger and take on Oresama himself and become the rightful ruler, one that was much more respectful and caring. It would be a hard hurdle to overcome, but one that had to be taken head on. As he walked in the forest, the ground was covered with pine straw and moss, he remembered what his mom had told him when he was a lad, “Mizo…Always fight for what is right in the world, no matter how hard or far that obstacle may be.” A slight grin reached across his face as he stared down at the ground, his hair basically blocking his view. He was well use to this route though, he had no need to see it…he knew it by heart. Seeing the cruel ruler take over the city he was not stupid enough to try living there, instead he lived ways off in the woods in a small shed type house. Upon reaching it, he simply pushed it open the metal scratching against one another, inside was his loyal Sabre cat that he had named Kira which in Japanese meant, “killer”. His Crimson fur shining from the little bit of moonlight filtering through the opening he had for a window. All he had for a bed was a few raggedy torn and ripped thin brown blankets he had manage to steal from the city a few nights back. The door thudded shut and the room was only lit by the beam of moonlight. He had the ability to see in the dark anyways…Like Kira they were connected by touch. Ever since he came across Kira and the two had come in contact, he has had the same ability. Mizo laid down and Kira laid up against is back, keeping him warm during the chilly night. I gust of wind blew under the door blowing his hair, it had been a while since he had a warm bed and an actual home. The two soon drifted of to a blissful sleep, leaving the night’s worries behind. Night had engulfed his tired body into it’s silence… The morning soon came and the filtered through the window waking the two from their slumber. Mizo wiped his head and pushed his hair back, his eyes were full of green crust, with a few quick wipes it was gone. He got up and looked out the window, everything was silent, too silent, something had to be going on…He changed his shirt and headed out, he carefully headed toward the city, upon reaching the gate parents and kids were slaughtered strewn across the ground blood flowing from their bodies still. The slaughter had been recent. Zero was standing in the middle of all the carnage his back at the gates, his sword hanging from his hand blood covering it from hilt to blade tip and blood dripping from the blade. “Zero…” Mizo stood there with a angry face. “Mizo…” Zero replied, a smile sliding across his face. He slung his sword blood flying off, he then sheathed it. He then turned around, “So what brings you here?” “The pure silence…usually there is noise from the city bustling around, but today there was nothing…” Mizo drop his head, “Fools like you are disgusting…walking around here killing the innocent and children who have did no wrong, who have barely lived…” Zero manages to laugh, “Do you think I’m the fool? Look who is standing there unarmed…” Zero laughs again, “I am only following my fathers commands. It was going to happen regardless who did it…And now you are interfering…” Mizo laughs, “You think I’m not armed?” Mizo throws a quick right hook, Zero flies through the air, landing with a thud, he rubbed his face and got back up. Zero managed to keep a serious face, he showed no fear. “You think just because you can hit me, means I’ll back off? Well hate to tell you, I won’t….” He puts his hand on the hilt of the sword, with his thumb he pushes it open and grabs it with his other arm, the sun glistens on the blade. He stood in a attack mode… Mizo dropped his head once again, his hair blowing in the wind, “If your so confident then I dare you to come at me with your best effort…” still looking down he bothered not to see his opponent. Zero tilted his sword and ran at Mizo at the last minute he jumped into the air, he had him now. Right before the sword landed on his head Miso reached up and grabbed his arm, Zero landed his mouth agape, but he quickly closed it and gritted his teeth. “…How?!” “Because, you think you’re a bad ass, doesn’t mean you really are, there are flaws in your attack strategy…” Mizo let go of his arm and shoved him to the ground. “You basterd!!” Screamed Zero he charged at him again, this time Mizo stepped to the side and Zero missed all together. “You see when you get frustrated, you begin to make mistakes, plus you are far below my skills level anyways. I could beat you with my eyes closed…Now unless you want me to kill you I suggest you go away!” “Ha me back down? You really are a fool! I dare you to give me your best shot…!” Mizo takes off towards Zero his fist at eye level, with stunning speed and accuracy, he hits Zero once again, this time leaving his mouth all bloody, as he hit the ground Mizo smiled a crooked grin. Blood dripped profusely from the corner of Zero’s mouth, he bothered not to wipe it off, only letting it continue to drip. “Next time I will leave you speechless…” Mizo begins walking off past the fountain behind Zero, carefully watching him out of the corner of his eye. Suddenly he runs behind Mizo thinking he has an advantage, before he landed a hit Mizo had spun around dodged his attack and punched him below the ribs, leaving him gasping for air as he fell to the ground holding his stomach. “I tried telling you…” without waiting for him to get back up he headed for Oresama’s castle, located in the heart of Zanzer. The town scattered with more people, it was making his blood boil, he would revenge their deaths and lay the dead to rest on the mountains beyond the castle’s back walls. Something suddenly flew by over head, Mizo simple looking to the sky, it was a overgrown vultura, they was common everywhere there was death there was nothing he could do to stop them from eating the carcasses. There would soon be to many. He could only hope to defeat Oresama. He finally reaches the castle stairs and heads up them two at a time. There surprisingly was Oresama, as if he knew there was someone coming… “I knew you would come, I have been told you sleep in a shed out side the castle walls, a rather run down metal tinned shack…” Oresama let out a short chuckle, his hands on his hips and two swords on his back, things could get nasty. There was no way he could beat him with two swords at his defense. Mizo reached his whistle hanging around his neck, it was thin and tube like, as he blew a super high pitch ring came from it, not audible to human ears but to animal ears…after blowing it he dropped it from his hands letting the chain catch it, he made no expression on his face. Backup was on it’s way, and soon a bloody fight would go down, hopefully him rising above Oresama’s skill level. Suddenly a roar could be heard and a scream, assuming Kira had a fight with Zero, most likely killing Zero. Kira soon caught up to my side and stood there with my sword gently sitting in his mouth. I take it and tie it on my back once again…it had been a while since I last used my sword, it had been a while since I had needed it. “So I see you have a companion…I don’t think we have met.” he smarts off. “His name is Kira and he’s more than a match for you! Both of us together could beat you within a matter of minutes.” “So I’ll just take out your pet first then…” He smiles and unsheaths his sword. “I’m ready when you are!” Him take out Kira? Was he stupid or just that confident? No one had ever beat Kira, even when he was just a cub. “You beat him? Your kidding right?” I simply draw my sword and prepare for battle. Kira stands there teeth baring and lips curled and a growl emitting from his throat. With a slight tilt of my head Kira takes off towards Oresama, dodging his sword and grabbing his leg. He is left laying on the ground shaking with fear. It would be a quick match. I run at him and my sword cuts through the air with blinding speed, before the sword reaches him something flies by and grabs him in time. I follow it with my eyes, never turning my head, what I see surprises me, it was another sabre cat, but this one was black, with errie yellow eyes. It had faded pink scars covering it’s body, this thing was nothing but a shield for Oresma’s chicken ass. “Whaa…” I stare, clearly stunned by the sight of another battle cat. “Did you think the battle would be so easy?” he asks with a short laugh. Before I had time to reply the black sabre cat was heading my way. Kira suddenly jumped in front of me colliding with him. The two took off running seeming to compare speed with one another, but both were evenly matched. “So shall we get started? Or are we going to stand here all day?” he yells taking his battle stance once again. I place the blade I front of me, the sun glaring off it. We clash blades, a chime coming from our swords hitting. We push all our weight into our swords trying to throw off the other person. I finally push him away, we clash again this time we hit our swords continuously, we were evenly matched, there was no way I could beat him with ordinary hits…I had to come up with a plan. Looking around I see Kira sliding to a stop. Where had Oresama’s cat gone too? Had he beaten him that fast? There was no way! Soon his cat came limping over into view. Blood was pouring from several wounds, some of which looked fatal. Kira had ripped him to shreds… “What have you done to Blade? Yelled Oresama, a look of utter disbelief on his face. All of a sudden Blade collapses, Oresama sheaths his sword for a moment. Now was my chance to throw a surprise attack, but a direct blow would be easily blocked, I had only moments to plan this out. I could have Kira walk over to Blade this would distract Oresama, so I can get close enough so he could not possibly counter my attack…but would it work? I signal Kira over to Blade, blade swipes at him with claws but clearly misses him. Blade knew he had been beaten, Kira had decided not to attack, Blade was already dying. I run over to Oresama, and thrust the sword into his chest, he simply moans and goes limp, I pull out my sword, blood pouring rapidly out of his chest, I had beaten him. I wipe the blood on my cargo pants and sheath it. The light soon fades from his eyes, now to finish off Blade. As I walk over to where he lie, I pull out my sword once again, I hold it with both hands above the battle cat, before I’m able to thrust it into the chest of my enemy a voice shouts out, a voice so beautiful it could only be a female… I slowly flip and level my sword, and turn my head to the direction in which it came. Nothing was is sight, then soon after a fair skinned female sticks her head out from behind a castle bush that lined the edge of the steps… “Who’s there?” I ask as I hold my sword over my shoulder. The woman walks out from where she was hiding and walked down the stairs her long hair swaying side to side. Her hair was a pleasant lilac color, her eyes a dark blue, she wore very little clothing, just a bra and underwear type of clothing. Around her she wore a strap across her chest, behind her I could see the hilt a pretty big sword, bigger than my own…in comparison I felt like I was so much weaker than her. "What do you think your doing to blade?” she asked as she headed over to him. As she reached him she bent down and stroked his blood cover fur… “What have you did to him?! Did you do this?” she turned her head and stood up once again. “No, my battle cat did, I killed the guy you see lying over there…” I look over my shoulder. “That was a cruel man, he ruled with no mercy, I’m glad that man is dead.” she spoke with a distant look in her eyes. But soon after she looked at me, a look of hatred… “You owe me a duel, but first you have to help me get blade inside to be attended to for his injuries.” I look over at Kira and as if he understood my thoughts he scooped up Blade on his back and waited for further commands. “Follow me…” she headed back inside the castle, pushing open the huge marbled doors, they must have been heavy, but she seemed to open them with ease. She did look muscular, but it didn’t matter to me… all that mattered to me was how good she was with that sword. It would be an interesting battle…indeed it would. As I walk in I marvel at the architect inside, the designs on the ceiling and crystal lighting was all so beautiful. It made the town look like trash. Even though at first the town looked like the more expensive than any town I have visited before… Kira brought up the rear, we follow a long hallway to a door at the end, she opened it and we went inside. The room looked like a medical room, three girls come out and by request got Blade and set him on a table to work on. She motioned me out of the room and the three of us headed out of the castle back out to fight. Kira laid down at the bottom of the steps, he decided he needed a nap. “So are you ready?” She asks as she draws her sword, the thing was massive, the muscles I her arms bulging. “Yeah, I was born ready” I reply with a laugh, I then draw my sword. My adrenaline begins to pump, everything fades away into a silent whisper. She makes her move, making a direct attack not even first testing my fighting abilities. Our swords clash and we push back ready for the next attack. “Your pretty strong! But can you beat this next hit?” she heads at me and at the last minutes slides off to my side, before I know it a sharp pain hits me in the back, I am unable to move and fall to the ground. “Psshh…I at least expected you to turn around.” she says as she sheaths her sword. “You’ll be ok after a few hours…I hit you with the reverse side of my blade…” Reverse side? When did she….hmm she must have flipped it when she passed me… I lay on my stomach still cringing, I was sure to have a large bruise on my back. Possibly something broken, I try to move and sure enough I yell out in pain. “What? Did I break something? Everyone says I hit too hard…” she says with a smile and squinted eyes, as if she was laughing in her head. “Yeeaaa….yes…of coarse you broke something…” I reply, then thinking to myself you bitch… I manage to roll over nearly screaming in the process. I wince as the pain sears through my back… God damn what does she work out with? No human I have ever met hits this hard… “Where the hell do you train at? Or the question is more what do you train with…?” I ask, each breath causing me serious pain… one eye was closed due to the incredible pain. “What are you talking about? Training? Oh….I don’t, I just use my sword a lot and I practice daily several times a day.” she tells me with a look as if I am stupid, like I could read her mind… “I see…” I reply, with another shooting pain I take a deep breath and whistle to Kira, who rushes over to my side. He lies on his stomach to allow me easy mount, I slowly crawl on his back and hold on to his fur, he leaves with me heading for my shack. “Why are you leaving when I have medical help here?” she shouts after us. “I’ll be fine, I just need to take things easy for a few weeks. Not like you can do much but administer drugs to ease the pain..” with that I head off once again, I could feel her eyes boring into my back. I figure she will try to follow me or at least try to find me within a few days… I come within sight distant of my shack, every step Kira took was agony on my back. If a rib is broke, it is going to be a pain to pop back into place. The only way to find out was to feel of my back… as we finally reach the shack I slowly dismount and try my best to stand straight and make my way inside. I sit on a makeshift bench I had made back when I moved into it, I rub my face, wishing I had never fought her. I was stupid enough to not even turn around and block her attack. But why? Why did I freeze up like that? Was it because her skills surpassed what I expected from her? From a mere girl? No she was no ordinary girl, there was something odd about her. Sure she trains but how did she come I possession of such a sword? She hasn’t seen the last of me, I have some questions to ask her… I feel of my back, each rib I go over the pain from the bruise makes me wince. I go over one, and sure enough it was popped out of place. Great, exactly what I didn’t want… I stand up and head out side, the metal door making a noise again. It slams shut behind me, Kira was lying there with a kill eating it. He got up from his meal and headed over to greet me. I pet his head as he rubs up against my waist, he is a pure baby at heart, but in battle he is a beast. I head off towards a nearby tree, the whole city would hear this if any are still alive. I turn my back against the tree, with all my weight I slam my back against it. I scream as loud as I can… it felt like shit, the worst pain I have endured all in all my life. The sound of my bones crunching together as it popped back into place. I slide to the ground and pass out… Something disturbs my sleep I open my eyes to someone’s feet near my face. Who is it? I look up to see the half clothed girl I had met earlier, the view was stunning… "Hello…”I mumble as I attempt to sit up, but my back was far too sore pull myself upright. “What are you doing outside? I just heard you scream earlier…and came to check on you…” she reply with a raised eyebrow. “Wha…” I look around I was outside…then it all comes back to me, I had put my ribcage back into place, then I must have passed out. Earlier, how long had I been out? “How long ago did you hear me scream?” I ask hoping I wouldn’t look stupid. “About two hours ago, after I found you here I let you sleep, but I was worried you was in a coma or something so I shook you trying to wake you up. I’m glad you woke up I thought I was going to have to tote you back to the castle for medical help…” “Well thanks to your damn sword, I can’t sit up, so would you mind helping me up?” I ask as I look back at the ground. “Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t know you couldn’t get up” she replies shocked I would ask for help. She sits me up as I bare the pain. I’m going to be off my feet for a few weeks and maybe even a month , I have to let this heal properly, or I could be injured permanently. “So where did you come into possession of that sword you have on your back?” I ask as I look around for Kira. He was over by the shack watching the girl beside me… Perhaps it was for the best I was in no physical shape to defend myself or fight for that matter. I motion him over by my side where he lies down. “What, do you not trust me? So much that you have to summon your cat to your side? That’s disrespectful, I was the one who came to check on you and help you if you needed it.” she says with a angered look on her face and a clenched fist. “Yes, if need be…Better safe than sorry…” I reply as I stroke Kira’s back. Well if you don’t need me I’m leaving!” she replies and begins to leave as I grab her arm to stop her. “No…stay…” I let go of her arm as she turns back around her face was flushed. I didn’t think it would be anything to blush about, but evidently it was to her. “Do you want anything to eat?” She asked trying to change the subject. “No, I’m fine thanks.” I ate earlier, I lie. “Ok…need anything?” she asks trying to do something for me, so I make something up so she felt useful. “Sure, go clean up my house…” I tell her even though it wasn’t very dirty. She walks over and goes in, picking up a rock to prop open the door for light. She stops and looks around wondering where to begin. There were cloths thrown everywhere, and the place looked destroyed, but to me it was home, I spent very little time inside anyways, so I guess it never bothered me. I sit up against the tree watching her pick up my cloths and put them in a pile up against the door inside. I was somehow still tired I manage to lay on Kira’s back, his soft fur clenched in my hands. No one had ever cared about me enough to do something like this. Why was she? Did she feel sympathize for me? I was capable of surviving on my own. I had most of my life, except when I lived with my parents, who both died on death charge for theft by Zero himself. My family was never very wealthy. But at one point up till a few years ago I had a home inside the city walls, but I left, the memories of my life there was to much for me to bare. It had been a long time since I had a caring person in my life, it was a reminder of how much I don’t like being alone. I can’t let her see me like this… I manage to fall asleep…night was approaching, and I had nothing better to do. I later woke up in bed, upon looking around I realized I was not in my shack, I was in the castle. But how and why? The covers were so smooth, like silk, an olive color and it was thick. The room was decorated for a man. Did she have it made for me? What was her intent? There was no way I was accepting her hospitality, I sit up in bed…. I could sit up? Only last night I couldn’t do such a thing, did she heal me? Or maybe I was on a heavy dose of medicine… Either way I was out of here, I could not be pampered like a wounded pet. Even though I was wounded, I did not ask for her to bring me here. I throw the covers off and let my legs hang off the bed as I rub my face. I allow myself to slide out of bed as I landed on the plush carpet below my feet it complimented the covers. It’s brown tone brought out the green in the bed. But why did I care? I am a guy…guess I was intrigued by her sense of fashion. The girl was pretty interesting I had to say…. I leave the room, sneaking around trying to find a way out without getting caught. After spending several minutes running and sneaking around I finally see the door, peaking around the corner I make a run for it. Pushing the gigantic doors open, flooding the room with sunlight as I run out closing them behind me with a slam. They was sure to have heard it. I ran all the way to my shack, but then it hit me where was Kira? I call him, he does not come… Don’t tell me he was in the castle….Geez, I just got out now I gotta get back in and out again…wonderful! I smack my forehead. I head back to the castle in a rather ticked mood. I couldn’t believe this, how could I forget my partner? Upon reaching the castle steps I look up to see the girl standing there. Beside her was Kira…on a collar and chain sitting quietly on the marbled steps. “Hey, why do you have Kira and why is he chained?” I ask as I wrinkle my forehead. “Let him go now!” I shout as I clench my fist and grit my teeth, If the bitch don’t hand him over she is digging her own grave… She bent down and unlatched him, the collar she left on, it’s pristine diamonds and black leather looked good on him, so I did not request it be removed. Kira got up and headed down the stairs then she speaks up as he reaches the bottom, You can keep the collar it was simply to keep him from roaming about the castle making his business where ever he saw fit. I had no intention of hurting or keeping him…” she replied and gathered up the chain in her hands and turned around to leave. The doors slammed shut once again. We left without another glance back, it was time he gathered his things for a new adventure, after he buried all the towns people… After the last body had been placed in it’s hole and the dirt piled on top of it the sun was beginning to set. A whole day wasted burying the slaughter from Zeros actions earlier. The two were covered in dirt and blood, Kira had dug the holes while he covered them. He let his body free fall to the grassy hill and he watched the sun set upon the world and then silently fell asleep where he laid. He had not ate a decent meal all day yesterday, just snacking here and there on some stolen food from the town. The morning came and it soon turned to afternoon, her was still sleeping on the hill, but with no town noises as he was use to, he did not wake up early like yesterday. Before evening came around he finally woke up and come to a sitting position. The birds flew above and the sweet chattering of them nesting in the trees nearby was peaceful for once. The wind rustled the trees together and leaves blew about, the sky a pure orange and pink…a slight bit of purple and royal blue highlighted the sun as it began setting. He had wasted a whole day sleeping, but who could blame him? He fought three people yesterday! But without no one to fight or worry about, where will I go next? he wondered. He ruffles his hair and rubs his face, then as if it was off timing his stomach begins to rumble, disturbing his thoughts asking to be fed. But seeing as the town was empty food would soon spoil and he would starve. He had no choice but to eat stale food from the other night, where ever he could find some. He headed back into town after gathering his things and leaving most of it behind, he was sure he could find some better provisions in town. If not he could always go back to get what he needed and leave. Blood covered the ground where previous dead bodies had laid. It made him angry, he simply ignored t and focused on seeking out stuff he wanted or needed. He entered house after house picking things up and chunking them if they didn’t seem interesting. He found some decent dishes and things but none he would need, they was just things he would tote aimlessly and slow his travels with. As he entered a bigger looking house he saw many things he had to take with him, most were valuble by the looks of it. He grabbed a nice looking linen cloth off the table and began piling gold and silver things onto it, as he placed the last piece on it he tied it up and grabbed a rope by the door to tie it to Kira’s back for transport to the next town. Where he could sell the goods for money and trade some for food and clothing… he could tote no more with his back piled with his own belongings and his pet’s with valuables, he grabbed some food out of the cabinets and chocked them down and threw the rest to Kira. With there bellies full they was ready for there next journey. Mizo headed out of town once again and for the last time. He looked over at Kira who roared his mighty battle call. With that they left the isolated town. Right before passing his old shack and leaving toward the woods a dagger flew by his face cutting a small piece of hair and landing embedded in a tree. The hair scattered and landed on the ground, the dagger vibrating in the tree’s trunk. He walked over and pulled it out and turned around to see the girl walking his way a pack of belongings on her back and armed well with plenty of weapons. She extended her arm and gestured he return her sword. He hands it over without a thought, then asks the obvious question. “Why are you all packed? Are you coming with us?” he scratches his head and looks up at the sky as he rolls his eyes, now he had to listen to a complaining girl on his journey. “Yes, of course, I have nothing to do here and would love to venture out for once.” she replies as she places a hand on her hip and smiles. “Ok but don’t complain we do a lot of traveling, often for days on uneven terrian and mountains.” He tells her trying to change her mind. “All right then!! Sign me up, I’m not some pathetic girl you know. I can be quiet a fighter when it comes to endurance and travel. I run twenty miles a day fully armed and without a single break or speed decrease!” He doesn’t reply nor make a sign he had heard her, he begins walking off without telling her, he had wasted enough time standing here talking to her. The three head off into the woods following what he only guessed was an old travel path used by people years ago and they had quit using for some reason, she didn’t say not to head this way so he figured it was alright. But little does she know, she had never traveled this way. Much less travel long distances, other than on her usual training path in the opposite direction. The sun was hot, the woods covered with tons of flies and bugs as they landed on him and the others. They simply ignored them and kept going they all knew it was best if they reserved their energy for travel, not comfort. It was a great survival method when traveling unknown territory, in case of unexpected fights and delays such as weather. They travel over the hills and rivers along the way, the scenery was breath taking. But they had no time to marvel at it if they was to reach this next town that was an unknown number of miles away. Mizo didn’t bother to ask her, she would not know, she was far to pampered he thought. A foul stink caught his nose and nearly made him pass out, this was death defiantly, but not human he was sure of that much. He gestured for the girl behind him to stop, him and Kira crept up ahead to view what was going on. A lance comes flying by his head and becomes embedded in the ground. That’s the second time today I have nearly lost my head! He thinks to himself as he retrieves his sword off his back and motions Kira away, he was too loaded to fight. Standing there he tries to figure out where it had come from according to the direction it flew from. There was nothing there or maybe it was trap triggered. Either way they had to be careful and stay on alert. They moved slowly looking out for any type of trip wire or enemies. Then as if he was completely blind something close lined him and left him dazed on the ground, everything spinning as he tried his best to find this thing that had attacked him. All he could make out was the girl leaping over him and swinging her blade at the air. Blood come pouring out of whatever she sliced at. He sits up and rubs the back of his head, he had hit the ground rather hard. She extended her and to help him get up, he reaches for it and pulls himself up. Then she turns and looks at what ever it was, it fades in and out before finally becoming visible completely. The two of them stand there staring at it trying to figure out what it was. “It’s a ogre, but where did it come from? They have not been around these parts for ages…back when I was little maybe…” she speaks up, sheathing her sword after wiping it on a cloth. And tucked it in her pocket, it was stained red from what he was guessing was the many battles she had won. The thing was hideous and it’s smell was even worse. They cared not to hang around the stench and kept going. Up ahead there was death everywhere, it seemed there had been a fight amongst the ogres about something. Lying on the ground up ahead was a artifact of some sort, it looked as if it had some prestige to it, it’s diamond encrusted edge sparkled as the sun blared through the trees. It was some sort of book…almost seemed like a spell book, but why would the ogres have it and where did it come from? Mizo looks over at the girl, he had not yet asked of her name. he thought now was a good time. “I never caught your name…I’m Mizo by the way.” he spoke to her sorta soft. She tucked the book away on her bag and replied, “My name is Yang, I’m the princess of that city, or what was my city. The people left there will carry on the city as they do after every war. People come and go, the city has been destroyed and built back so many times. I really cared about no one there. Most were cowards anyways. I couldn’t reveal my true self they would want to fight and to me they were not worth it.” she babbled on as they got around the dead ogres and kept walking as if nothing happened. Hell you are even weaker than me, or just shocked one, maybe one day we can have a rematch?” she asked looking over at me. We was going down the hill ad before I can reply an arrow flies between us. A shocked expression crosses both our faces as we seek shelter behind some trees being out in the open was not safe, something was going on in the next city and we have no idea how we are going to get there without being detected again. A few mire arrows are released the whistle they make as they fly through the air and thump into the tree we stand behind, they had seen us hide for sure. Our best bet for survival was to stay in the wooded areas. We were too far for normal bows to reach, they had to of been using longbows. There was sure to be some snipers there as well. We have to watch our steps from here on out, we can’t fight till we get inside. And we’d need a diversion first. “Come on follow me, we need to stay covered, one sighting and the arrows will fly again, we need to get into a deeper part of the woods.” Yang whispers to Mizo. Se grabs his hand and yanks him further into the woods. Kira was following along quietly behind Mizo. Yet another arrow comes our way this time breezing Yang’s neck leaving a scratch. “Damn!! They have archers here in the trees as well!!” Yang yanked Mizo through the woods as they both ducked and dodged arrows from almost every direction. “Where the hell are they?” shouted Mizo as he looked above in the trees he couldn’t see anything. Maybe they are ogres like we saw back at the road. Mizo thought as Yang lead him through the woods to safety. Kira stopped and growled before being shot at with arrows, luckily most missed and the others hit the goods he toted. He took off after us once again, he was always so fierce even an opponent he could not see would not scare him. Now was not a time to neither stand up and fight nor be brave. The three fled dodging arrows, they had to reach the city and take them out. An archer stepped out from behind a tree and aimed his bow at the three, Yang pulled her sword out and flew over slicing the mid torso, blood poured from the wound and she sheathed it once again. “Save me some…” whined Mizo as they finally reached the city wall. Arrows had slowed some as the archers retreated and regrouped. Yang and him would have to clib the walls and take out as many archers as they could but they was at a disadvantage and would most likely get slaughtered despite their sword skills. Yang knew she had trained with a bow some years ago, but was doubtful at the thought of how well she could use it. “Stay here, I’ll be right back.” she told Mizo and headed to the archer they had just killed. She grabbed his bow and arrows off his back and slung it onto hers. She raced back to the wall, her back slammed against it and she winced in pain. “I trained few years ago wit a bow, do you trust me enough to shoot it again?” She asked testing it’s bend. “This will do, it is quite old, but is of the best wood. It’s been told to last for 2 decades under heavy use. This I estimate is not but a few months old according to it’s bend.” “Yes I trust you, just don’t get killed!” he spoke up as he looked around. She quickly climbed the wall and immediately as if she never forgot began hitting them with such accuracy. Before he knew it she was jumping back down beside him her eyes wide with terror. “There’s a whole army coming from the castle at the end of this city! We need to move!” She grabbed his arm dragging him, there only shelter lie back at her home city inside the castle. They hauled ass, running as fast as they could. The gates had opened and the army marched out the gates in uniformed steps. They passed the dead bodies from earlier and was almost back where they started as arrows began flying again, hitting the shack and trees along with the ground. Kira followed the two, he was still toting the goods. The two safely reach the castle pushing the doors open and closing them fast only to bolt and place a board across the door for extra support. The thumping of the arrows hitting the doors echoed in the halls up to the ceilings. A thundering boom knocks Yang to the ground. Mizo quickly unties the goods and sets them in an interior room for safety. “Here ride Kira! He’s very fast, load that bow and wait for the doors to bust down, just be careful!” Mizo yelled over the roar of the commotion outside. The doors began to give way under the constant pressure coming from outside. “I’m ready!” she nodded in his direction and focused on the door as it splintered and broke. The army poured in through the holes and marched Yang pulled Kira’s fur back ordering him to back up. She aimed and began shooting as Mizo slashed at them. “They are too many in number!!” he shouted at Yang and the two retreated to the support beams above. Yang kept firing as Mizo kept an eye on Kira below who had refused to back down. Kira was getting cut and wounded pretty bad. He was constantly dodging and being slashed at. He let a mighty roar fill the room and he began to morph into something else, but what was it? Mizo had never see such a thing. Kira’s body grew larger and armor appeared on his legs back and face. Kira was twice any of their sizes. Arrows barely pierced the skin and swords barely made a scratch. His wounds from before had disappeared and he was clean once again. With the sweep of one arm Kira wiped out half the army in the room, he knocked them all against the wall and rendered them unconscious. The army advanced as room became available, kira stomped on a bunch of them, blood covered the floor from the pressure that had exploded their bodies. Yang continued firing and Mizo jumped down to join the fight once again. Mizo easily slaughtered over one hundred men. Yang soon jumped onto Kira’s back and steadied herself as he took a mouthful and swallowed them. “I’m out of arrows!!” yelled Yang. She put the bow around her chest and pulled a sword off her back, it was one of those big ones she had fought Mizo with. She slid down Kira’s arm and sliced the head off a soldier. She spun and sliced the torso of another and cut an “x” on another’s chest and he fell dead as blood squirted all over her and the floor. The soldiers had thinned vastly within a matter of minutes. Yang could see a horde of ogres heading their way with spiked clubs and axes. “Ogres, great!” Yang mumbled and thrusted her sword into one of their stomachs and pushed him off with her foot. Mizo and Yang jumped onto Kira’s back and sheathed their swords awaiting the next swarm of enemy to close in. The ogres grand sizes slowed them down a lot. They was soon within shooting range, Yang had since gathered any decent arrows from the dead bodies strewn across the palace floor, the clean white marble had since turned ruby red. “Ready?!” Yang yelled, her quiver now full again. She pulled out three arrows at once ad pulled back the string, her hand shook from the strain of holding it back. “Aim for vital organs!! Head and chest!!” she yelled at the other two. Mizo nodded and Kira let out a monstrous roar that shook the walls and floor. The swishing sound of the arrows was heard and they landed square upon one of the ogre’s head. He roared in pain and yanked them out throwing them across the room, Kira jumped on him, matching it for size. The two wrestled and Kira took a bite at it’s arm. It flung him into a column and it crumbled. He rebounded with a bite to it’s neck, ultimately killing it where it stood, the two was covered in blood. He panted and went at yet another that had several arrows in it’s chest and head, Yang put away the bow and pulled out her biggest sword and began slashing legs. Some toppled and she would cut their throats, while others took more to take down and kill. Mizo and Yang dodged feet and weapons as they teamed together to take out a few. Several ogre bodies laid on the floor, Yang climbed one and jumped at another thrusting her sword into it’s chest. It hollered and slung her into the wall before it died, she was rendered unconscious “Yang!” Mizo yelled, she didn’t reply. “Great now is not a time to take a nap…” he mumbled enraged at the ogre that had knocked her out, he jumped into the air slashing the neck of one that had barely missed him with it’s ax. The ogre let out a roar and collapsed. He saw Kira thrown across the room, he slammed into several columns and shook his head before growling and showing his large teeth at the enemy. “Kira here boy!!” He shouted and Kira came bounding over. Mizo jumped on and he commanded he attack at full speed. He collided with one ogre and Kira jumped back to dodge it’s spiked club. Mizo immediately leaps into the air and thrust his sword into it’s head. He pulled it out as it fell, flailing it’s arms in an attempt to hit Mizo. He was soaked in blood and landed on Kira’s back dripping from it. Yang finally came to and got up supporting herself with the wall. She surveyed the area and headed for Kira’s back to join the two once again. “Hey, you didn’t think you could hog them all did you?” She asked Mizo as he looked over surprised and relieved. “Glad you could join, I could use the help!” he replied out of breath. “You stink…” she teased him. “Well I didn’t expect it’d be so messy…” he replied with a short laugh. “I agree! I’m covered in guts and they smell horrible!” she mentioned as they held on to Kira’s fur as he took out another ogre, there was only a few left. Kira Swiped one with his claws and then bit it’s head, blood filled his mouth and dripped out as another roar rumbled from outside. But it wasn’t Kira. Blade had somehow found them and was attacking the last few. “Blade!! You're ok!!” Yang yelled surprised at Blade’s huge size, he was in ultimate form as well. She jumped down going over and around the dead littered floor, her feet splashed through the massive amount of blood that covered the whole room now. Her welcoming hug was followed by a thunder some purr as the room vibrated. “I missed you Blade!” she told him as he bent down and slobbered all over her with his huge tongue as he greeted her. She giggled and then had a look of disgust as she wiped blood and slobber off her body. “Good boy…yes, you’re my baby…” she spoke in her baby voice as she hugged him once again. The war had finally ended and the two sabre cats had since returned to normal size. “So now that the war is over, wanna head over to the lake and watch the sun set?” Yang asked randomly. “Sure, but first shouldn’t we clean up and head to the other city again to check things out?” He questioned. “I suppose you’re right…” she agreed and hopped on Blade’s back for the trip, “Hop on!” she inquired patting the spot behind her on Blade’s back. “Kira can follow, he has more than aided you and I in this battle, he deserves a rest.” She stated and Mizo headed over to her. Blade turned and released a fearsome growl as he bared his teeth. “Blade, it’s alright, he is on our side now.” she cooed and petted his head ad scratched his chin. “how bout prime steaks for both Blade and Kira when we get to the next city castle?” She asked Mizo as he climbed atop Blade’s back carefully. “Yes I believe they deserve it.” he stated as The four headed at a rather fast jog to the city they were heading to in the first place before being chased by the army of the ememy. “What about that Spell book?” Mizo questioned peering around Yang’s shoulder as they approached the castle gate. Kira was ordered to place the bundle of goods down. Yang retrieved the book from her bag and it had began glowing. Perhaps it senses the key nearby…” he mumbled. “Then we shall go search for it.” she stated as she tucked it away once again and the two headed inside to begin their search for the key which would open the spell book.
